About the Program

Neighbours Helping Neighbours

The Well-Being HUB is launching a new Volunteer Home Maintenance Program to support low-income seniors across the Eastern Shore and Musquodoboit Valley.

We’re looking for volunteers who enjoy helping others and have skills in general home maintenance, handy work, yard care, or minor repairs. Whether you’re an experienced handy person or simply have practical skills you’re willing to share, your help can make a meaningful difference in the life of a neighbour.

Volunteer jobs may include:

  • Fixing leaky sinks

  • Yard work and gardening

  • Shovelling snow

  • Stacking firewood

  • Hanging picture frames

  • Installing handrails

  • Minor home repairs

  • Troubleshooting household issues

  • Other small maintenance tasks

We work around your availability, so you can choose the days and hours that work for you.

This program is all about neighbours helping neighbours—sharing skills, strengthening our community, and helping seniors remain safe and comfortable in their homes.
