 Naloxone/Narcan Training

At the Well-Being HUB, we believe that looking out for one another can save lives. That is why we offer free Naloxone/Narcan training to community members, local groups, and organizations.

Naloxone training is for everyone, not only for people who use substances or live with a substance use disorder. Opioid poisoning can affect anyone, including a child who accidentally accesses medication, an older adult who takes prescription pain medication, or a friend, neighbour, or colleague experiencing an unexpected emergency. Reducing stigma and learning how to respond with compassion helps make our community safer and ensures more people are ready to help when it matters most.

By learning these simple skills, we can build a safer, more caring community where more people are ready to respond when it matters most.

Naloxone, also known as Narcan, is a medication that can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose. Knowing how to recognize the signs of an overdose and how to use a Naloxone kit can give someone the support they need while waiting for emergency help to arrive.

Our training is welcoming, practical, and open to anyone—no medical experience is needed. Together, participants learn how to recognize the signs of an opioid poisoning, call for help, administer Naloxone, and support someone until emergency responders arrive.

Having Naloxone nearby does not mean you expect an emergency—it means you are prepared to help if one happens.
